This course is designed for beginners, aligned with ABRSM beginner requirements (Debut/Grade 1), covering the following topics:
- Music Fundamentals and Theory: Understanding rhythm and note values
- African Drum Techniques: Learning bass, tone, and slap sounds
- Rhythm Training: Practicing traditional West African rhythms (e.g., Kassa, Kuku)
- Sight-Reading: Practicing simple rhythms
- Aural Training: Basic rhythm recognition
- Repertoire Preparation: Learning ABRSM Grade 1 level simple African drum pieces
- Performance Techniques: Mastering basic improvisation
