- ASTM E90 : Airborne Sound Insulation Test.
- ASTM E492 : Impact Sound Transmission Test.
Test equipment
Use equipment that complies with the International Electrotechnical Standard (IEC) Class I certification:
- Sound level meter (Class 1) : Complies with IEC 61672-1, measures environmental and building noise.
- Omnidirectional speaker (Class 1) : Complies with IEC 60268-16 and produces standard test sounds.
- Percussion Machine (Class 1) : Floor impact sound test, in accordance with IEC 60704-2-1.
- Microphone system (Class 1) : Class 1 microphone, in accordance with IEC 60942.
- Calibrator (Class 1) : Acoustic calibration equipment, in accordance with IEC 60942.
Testers
The test is performed by a member of the Acoustical Society or a person with a bachelor's degree (or above) in relevant technology to ensure that the test complies with the standards.
Compliance Report
Provide detailed reports including measurement data, analysis and compliance certification to ensure that the project meets government or customer requirements.
